Frequently Asked Questions
1. How do I choose the correct current for the PCB?
The choice depends on your motor power or controller current limit. For example, with a 48V pack: Choose 16A for motors below 350W, 18A for below 500W, 35A for below 800W, and 60A for below 1KW. For higher power, please consult professional technical support.
2. Can I use a PCB with a higher current rating than required?
Yes, choosing a higher spec (e.g., an 80A PCB instead of 60A) is safe and allows for higher current capacity, though the price may be slightly higher. However, you should never choose a lower spec than required.
3. What kind of charger should I use?
Lithium batteries must be charged with a specific lithium battery charger. Do not use lead-acid chargers, as they may damage the MOS pipe of the PCB.
4. Do I need additional balancers if I have a PCB?
While the PCB prevents over-charging and over-discharging, adding dedicated balancers can significantly improve battery lifespan and ensure capacity is fully utilized by maintaining cell balance.
5. How can I determine if my PCB is broken?
Use a multi-meter to check cell voltages. If the battery shows a short driving range or cuts off despite normal measured voltage, or if there is a 1V difference between cells, the battery or the PCB may be defective.
6. Can the BMS be customized for different battery types?
Yes, we can design BMS/PCM for various lithium chemistries including LiFePO4, LiMn2O4, and Li-polymer in different sizes and structures to meet customer requests.
